Our Objective

Making Literature Inclusive

At AbleBooks Initiative, our goal is rooted in the belief that every child with a disability deserves to see themselves in the stories they read. Our goal is abbreviated as READ, and it stands for:

Representation

Creating stories where children and students with disabilities are the heroes and main characters.

Education

Promoting inclusive learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Accessibility

Working toward making our books more accessible through braille, sign language videos, and other inclusive formats.

Diversity

Celebrating and including people from all African backgrounds in our stories.
