AbleBooks Initiative has been named a winner at the Moonshot Awards 2025, emerging as the only Nigerian organization recognized in this year's edition.
The initiative secured a $10,000 equity-free grant under the Learning category, which celebrates innovative solutions improving access to education globally. The Moonshot Awards, organized by the Moonshot Platform, is a global program supporting young innovators addressing challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The 2025 edition received applications from thousands of participants across more than 100 countries.
AbleBooks was recognized for its work developing inclusive storybooks and learning materials for deaf children and children with disabilities, adapted into formats such as sign language, large print, and simplified text. Winners also gain access to mentorship and a global network of changemakers working to scale impactful solutions.
The awards ceremony was held in New York City.
