New Stories at Ibadan School for the Deaf

Volunteers Godwin Daniel and Gracious Oluwagbemiga visited Ibadan School for the Deaf in Ijokodo, donating copies of The Chess Champions and Being Different is Fun to the school library. The school staff and students received the team warmly, and the books were placed directly on the library shelves where students can access them freely.

For deaf children, a library stocked with books that reflect their lives is not a small thing. It is the difference between a reading culture that feels relevant and one that consistently leaves them out. The Chess Champions and Being Different is Fun were written with deaf and disabled children at the center, which means every student who picks them up finds something familiar waiting on the page.

AbleBooks' commitment is straightforward: every deaf school in Nigeria should have access to stories that speak directly to its students. Ijokodo is one more shelf closer to that goal.
