Volunteers Nendirmwa James and Michael Atul had such a good time with the students at the Plateau School for the Deaf, Josi. We added copies of our storybooks to their library and spent time reading and talking through the stories together.
The students were curious, expressive, and eager to share their thoughts. It was not just about reading to them. It was a real conversation.
One of the highlights of the day was playing chess with the students. The games were focused and competitive, with lots of laughter in between moves.
It was beautiful to see their confidence and strategic thinking shine through.
In total, we reached over 150 students, opening up more access to inclusive stories and meaningful engagement.
